How is Effervescent Voice Academy different from traditional voice lessons?

At effVA, you have so many options in how your voice education experience will look. We have multiple teachers, who specialize in different styles and are available at different times during the week, but the biggest difference is the community aspect of our academy. You’re going to learn to sing better, and you’ll develop some wonderful inter-personal skills at the same time!

What goes into my hour of lesson time:

Your lesson and membership fees cover more than just the actual lesson time. Your payments go toward the whole smorgasbord of opportunities we offer at the effVA.

For every hour enrolled in your voice education, you are investing in at least two hours of the teacher & studio’s time, including:

Answering and attending student & parent emails, texts and calls
Managing communication, payments and scheduling
Learning the music students bring to lessons
Creating accompaniment recordings
Making videos for student audiitons
Business overhead: sheet music, rent, staff, equipment, hardware and software, professional membership, insurance, licenses, office supplies and more, to make the academy run efficiently, effectively and to create a homey space for you
Tickets for members’ shows (provided for membership subscribers)
Our staff’s training, experience and expertise
Continuing education of our staff to make your voice lessons the best experience possible
Access to our professional network of local performing arts organizations, church musicians, performing artist, sound technicians, college professors, accompanists, and local businesses that hire live entertainment

Can I get a refund for lessons I paid for but didn’t use?

Nope. You can reschedule lessons, but no refunds will be issued.

Who will I get for a teacher?

At your Initial Fit Session, you will be paired with a “home base” teacher that we think you’ll really vibe with. Now, we may be wrong- it’s been known to happen, but we ask that you take at least 6 lessons with this teacher to learn some basics before trying other teachers in the studio. After those 6 lessons, you are free to choose whichever teacher you’d like. Sometimes personalities don’t work well together, sometimes it’s a scheduling thing, but we will try our very best to connect you with the teacher that would be a great fit for you. If you have ideas coming in on who you’d like to work with, we will absolutely take that into consideration.

Do you offer online lessons?

Not yet. We will eventually be set up for that with really great equipment, if we recognize a need for it.

How Much Does it Cost to be a part of the Effervescent Voice Academy?

We have options at a variety of price points. The lowest priced option is one half-hour semi-private with one or two friends for $45. Our membership runs $200/month and includes many options and the ultimate flexibility. Click here to view our pricing options.
